It's been too long...

Just as I figured, school started and the blogging was put on back burner.  On top of all this coursework, I've been working and wedding planning.  Somewhere between all this I have to find time for sleep.  That doesn't come easy.

Tonight I worked on papers and projects from 4pm to midnight, now I'm so wired it's impossible to close my eyes.  Did I mention I have to be up at six in the morning?  Let's see...if I feel asleep at this exact moment, I would get 4 1/2 hours of sleep.  That has to get me through class from 8am to 8pm.  Hmm....it's gonna be a Mountain Dew kind of day.  :)  That's the only thing that keeps me going.

So, now I got that introduction out of the way (don't confuse it with complaining ha).  I hope all of my six followers missed me.  hehehe....is that weird that I think six followers is pretty cool?  They don't actually have to read my stuff....I never know the difference.

No Longer a Padiddle.

After two long drawn out weeks, my headlight, which was causing me to be a padiddle, is finally fixed!

Okay, so you may ask yourself, why is this a big deal?
1.  It was not as simple as changing the bulb, but people driving by me don't know that.  They may be thinking,"  Fix your light, cheapo, lazy! (other descriptive, yet inaccurate names)
2.  I could not see at night.  I felt like a senior citizen that drives 25 mph; I was watching carefully for deer, opposums, or any other animals that try to commit street suicide.
3.  It took me forever to find the part.  The wiring harness connected to the light had been shorting out, which led to a melting mess of wires.  Volvo doesn't make it easy to find random parts like that, but the search is over.

I've played Padiddle once; I wasn't very good at it, so I retired.

Keeping it all even.

Tonight at work, I was going through the same old routine: taking orders, running food, yada yada...all while wearing a fake smile and pretending like I love my job.  (You see, I wanted to be an actress when I was younger and my acting skills come in handy in this line of work.)  Back to the point, it got me thinking about all the "jobs" I currently hold and how it's not easy to balance them all.  (Hence, the new name of my blog.)  On top of working in the restaurant for six years, I am a student.  I have one year left until I will leave this job and begin teaching.  Yay...it can't come soon enough.

Because of my class and work schedule, it's not easy to make sure I give attention to my family, fiance, and friends.  Some of them complain that I never have free time because my schedule stays pretty full.  But, what can I do?  I don't really have a choice.  I'm being pulled in five directions, trying to stay afloat.  I suppose life will always be a balancing act; I just have to learn to adapt.

Blog Help.

At this very moment...
I'm realizing that I still haven't thought of a new name for my blog.  Having an uncreative day, "At This Very Moment" was chosen as a temporary name until something popped into my mind.  Yeah, that hasn't happened yet.

Aside from despising the generic name of my blog, I hate it that I have no idea how to use half of the stuff on this site.  I look at other people's blogs often, okay...A LOT.  I'm amazed at some of the stuff on their pages, but I have no clue how to use any of these features.  Ahh...good things take time, but I'm growing impatient. I want to learn now, so I can stop feeling so elementary about blogging.  ha.  Any help/comments/feedback is welcome and greatly appreciated :)

This book was made for me.

Wishing for an endless summer.

At this very moment...
It has hit me that it's almost mid-August.  The season that I look forward to starting the moment it gets cold is almost over.  Every year, it comes and goes so fast; then winter drags on like an uninvited house guest.  I love summer because I get to wear shorts and tanks every single day.  Winter brings nothing but jackets, closed toe shoes, and a freezing car each morning.

College starts back in three weeks.  I'm trying to put it in the back of my mind and forget about it, but every hour, minute, and second brings it closer.  There's so much I haven't done this summer!  Because my fear of summer ending and not enjoying it to the fullest motivated me to spend the past two days at the lake.  After jetskiing all day, I was burnt to a crisp and my hair feels like straw...but it was so worth being on the water.

Unlike this guy, at least my sunburn only has lifejacket tan lines.

Pointless videos make me laugh.

After a long day at the lake, I was browsing the Internet and ended up watching all my favorite videos, clips that I've seen oodles of times.  Every time I still chuckle, because they are totally pointless.  I thought I'd share :)

Kittens Inspired by Kittens
This little girl is funny---very weird, but funny!

David after Dentist
Almost 65 million views.  Even if you have seen it, you should watch it again. ha.

The Landlord
So wrong on many levels, but who cares.

Laughter keeps people young and gets them through each day.  What do you have to share?

Are You Guilty?

At this very moment...
I'm thinking of things that irritate/annoy/bug me.  Why?  I don't know; it's just been one of those days.  Without further rambling, here's the top ten:

1.  People that lash out easily.  For example, the other day I was at McDonald's, a random guy starts yelling at the workers.  Why?  All because he had to wait in line.  Really...if you want food right away, go home and fix it at your own pace.
2.  Bullying.  Does it make the victim feel better?  No.  Does it make you feel better?  No. Then, it's pointless; a waste of energy.  Enough said. (Watch the movie: "To Save a Life")
3.   Tangled Cords.  Somehow my straightener, blow dryer, and curling iron all unite into a tangled knot daily.  I don't have the time or patience to separate them, just so they can wad themselves together again over night.
4.  Taking a million pictures...of your face.  Okay, a few here and there aren't bad, but anymore than five and I start wondering, "What looks different each time that makes you take another?"
5.  Silly Bands.  This only half annoys me, but it still makes the cut.  They look like a mess of rubberbands when people wear them, but it is pretty nifty how they hold their shape when you take them off.  I'll give the makers that much credit.
6.  Anyone of  "expert status".  You know those people that, no matter what the subject, think they know everything.  Whether it's about vegetable growing, fashion, or concrete pouring, they have two cents to put in.
7.  Consistent Tardiness.  Everyone has that friend that is always late.  Sometimes I think they make a stop or two if they are going to be on time, just because it would be impossible to stay true to the appointed meeting time.  To deal, I always add thirty minutes to whatever time they tell me.
8.  Those people that you cannot get off the phone with.  Most of the time, I ignore their calls.  If they catch me on a good day when I'm feeling extra patient, I'll answer and say "yeah, "uh huh", "okay", and eventually they get tired of talking.
9.  Crocs and Sketchers Shape Ups.  I don't care how comfortable they are.  It's simply unflattering for your feet.
10.  Flying insects and other creepy crawling things.  I attract them and they swarm to me, while everyone else sits there unbothered.

What annoys you the most?

Yes, they are real.

I stumbled across this website selling some very strange products.  Don't ask how I came across it, because I don't have a good explanation.  All that matters is it made me laugh and I had to share it with someone! ha.  Here are the top three products:

1.  The Knicker Sticker

"It's absolutely impossible to find underwear with no panty line. But don't fear, ladies; here it is: knicker sticker™ is a 100% cotton, heart-shaped underwear alternative. It simply adheres to the crotch of pants & shorts, enabling women to ditch the panties while keeping the protection. Say goodbye to panty lines, rogue underwear peeking out of jeans, and thongs that didn't get 100% clean in your non-bleach laundry. These are great for travel too, because who wants to show TSA your dirty knickers?"
My opinion:  I don't think real underwear are a big inconvenience, but apparently the inventors of Knicker Sticker think so.

2.  Pocksie

"No Purse. No Pocket. No Problem!  New Pocksie™ is a portable pocket that goes anywhere
Undoubtedly, your favorite going-out outfits have no pockets. And while your purse might be your favorite accessory, it is downright burdensome while busting a move on the dance floor or a theft risk while you are in crowds. And when haven't you wanted a pocket in your workout clothes or an extra place to store, say, your insulin machine. Now you can place a pocket anywhere with our new portable pocket, Pocksie™. Simply peel off a 3.5 x 4” rectangle of 100% super-soft cotton, stick it to the inside of your clothing (or boot, or reusable grocery bag), and go about your business. Your ID, credit card, and a few notes or a key will be secure in a pocket created by the Pocksie™ and your garment. Before laundering, just remove the contents, peel off, and dispose (natural cotton fibers are biodegradable)."

My opinion:  I hope the "Pocksie" is super sticky...or there goes your ID, credit card, or keys...so much for convenience then.

3.  Subtle Butt

"So you've come here looking for gas pads. Look no further, my friends. Your smelly flatulence problems may be over. Meet Subtle Butt™ disposable gas neutralizers.  Each 3.25" square filter is made of soft fabric with an antimicrobial treatment on the side touching the skin. The fabric is impregnated with activated carbon, which faces the underwear or the pants and has a vast surface area for bad odors to adhere to and get neutralized. Two adhesive strips are strategically placed so you know which side is which. And at around 1/32" thick, you will never know it's there. Now with improved adhesive!"

My opinion:  I was shocked to see that something like this existed!  But it would be even more shocking to find out if people really buy these things.

What's This All About?

"Do something you love, and you'll never work a day in your life."  -Unknown

I signed onto my laptop to check my student e-mail account, which led me to Facebook, as always.  From there, I was distracted into reading a friend's blog, which introduced the thought: "I should write a blog."

There, now you know how this blog came about.  A short, concise explanation because there's nothing much else to tell.  Sometimes thoughts just wander into my head for no apparent reason at all, and sometimes I listen to them.  When the thought first entered my mind to write a blog, my first question was, "What the heck could I possibly write about that people would actually want to read?"  And that's when the random topics started swirling in my brain.  I decided that I don't want to talk about one thing all the time...boring.  Instead, I'll blog about whatever happens to be on my mind that day.  Let's just see where this goes...

At this very moment, I'm watching Scream Queens (only because it happens to be on this channel, not because it's a favorite show of mine) and drinking a McDonald's sweet tea.  I'm kinda bummed because it's almost empty.  I should be doing something more productive, but my goal today was to do absolutely nothing.  So far, I've done a pretty successful job.  When I woke up this morning, I decided that it's been months since I've had a day with nothing planned.  I'm always making dates with friends, working, getting caught up on schoolwork, studying, the list goes on...

I suppose I should be telling you more about myself on this first entry, rather than boring you with how I've done nothing today, other than create this blog.  ha.  Here goes...

I'm a typical girl that grew up in the country.  No, I never lived on a farm, but I have lived in the same small town where everyone knows your name for 21 years.  In one year, I will graduate from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Elementary Education.  After obtaining a teaching position, I will return to school part-time to pursue my Master's and Rank I.  Teaching is my passion; it's what I was born to do.

My other passion are my friends, family, and my wonderful fiance.  We're getting married next July in Destin, Florida in a sunset ceremony.  We chose to get married away because we wanted a small, intimate wedding, not a big production.  We don't feel the need to spend an outrageous amount of money to impress others on our wedding day.  The wedding is about us joining in marriage, and want the focus to stay on that instead of decorations, favors, lighting, presents, doves....you know how extravagant some weddings can get.

That's it for today.  I'm done typing, and you're done reading.  :)  Stay tuned for my next post.
