What's This All About?

"Do something you love, and you'll never work a day in your life."  -Unknown

I signed onto my laptop to check my student e-mail account, which led me to Facebook, as always.  From there, I was distracted into reading a friend's blog, which introduced the thought: "I should write a blog."

There, now you know how this blog came about.  A short, concise explanation because there's nothing much else to tell.  Sometimes thoughts just wander into my head for no apparent reason at all, and sometimes I listen to them.  When the thought first entered my mind to write a blog, my first question was, "What the heck could I possibly write about that people would actually want to read?"  And that's when the random topics started swirling in my brain.  I decided that I don't want to talk about one thing all the time...boring.  Instead, I'll blog about whatever happens to be on my mind that day.  Let's just see where this goes...

At this very moment, I'm watching Scream Queens (only because it happens to be on this channel, not because it's a favorite show of mine) and drinking a McDonald's sweet tea.  I'm kinda bummed because it's almost empty.  I should be doing something more productive, but my goal today was to do absolutely nothing.  So far, I've done a pretty successful job.  When I woke up this morning, I decided that it's been months since I've had a day with nothing planned.  I'm always making dates with friends, working, getting caught up on schoolwork, studying, the list goes on...

I suppose I should be telling you more about myself on this first entry, rather than boring you with how I've done nothing today, other than create this blog.  ha.  Here goes...

I'm a typical girl that grew up in the country.  No, I never lived on a farm, but I have lived in the same small town where everyone knows your name for 21 years.  In one year, I will graduate from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Elementary Education.  After obtaining a teaching position, I will return to school part-time to pursue my Master's and Rank I.  Teaching is my passion; it's what I was born to do.

My other passion are my friends, family, and my wonderful fiance.  We're getting married next July in Destin, Florida in a sunset ceremony.  We chose to get married away because we wanted a small, intimate wedding, not a big production.  We don't feel the need to spend an outrageous amount of money to impress others on our wedding day.  The wedding is about us joining in marriage, and want the focus to stay on that instead of decorations, favors, lighting, presents, doves....you know how extravagant some weddings can get.

That's it for today.  I'm done typing, and you're done reading.  :)  Stay tuned for my next post.
